Marble Mountains in Danang

How to get there
A unique place that attracts travelers with irresistible force at any time of the year, contains in itself not one mystery of centuries-old history. Marble Mountains are located in the vicinity of one of the largest cities of Vietnam – Danang, and represent a chain of picturesque hills covered with lush vegetation. 30 km from the famous place of pilgrimage is the city of Hoi An, which allows you to reach the site without the slightest problem.
Distance from the southern part of Danang can be overcome on foot, enjoying the splendor of local landscapes.
From Hoi An, you can reach the destination by public transport, which goes towards Danang. Also, you can take a taxi, the cost of which does not exceed $ 5 in both directions. Those who prefer independence from public transport can rent a bike. A wide selection of these vehicles is available in almost every hotel.
A bit of history
There is an ancient belief that the appearance of the hills was promoted by parts of the egg shell left after the girl emerged from the dragon’s left egg. This legend is part of Vietnamese creativity and testifies to the close interweaving of traditions and real life of Asians.

To contemplate the caves and temple structures located in the Mount of Water, you will have to pay the same $ 0.75, which is 15,000 Vietnamese dong.
Interestingly, the entrance fee to the territory of the Marmara Mountains is charged until 5 pm. For those who decide to take a walk in the hills after the specified time, the entrance will not cost a cent.
The main feature of the Marble Mountains is the presence of unique ancient temples, which are located in caves. One of them is a special place, symbolizing hell and paradise. Sculptures of marble, located on the sides of the gorge, are symbols of the dark and bright sides of man. Having overcome a steep ascent, the tourist can see the personification of paradise, and also admire the local sights from the observation deck.
No less interesting will be visiting the grotto of Van Nguyet, the caves of the Lanterns, the Tam-Kuan Gate, and the Riverview Tower. In addition, on the hills there are ancient pagodas, to which thousands of tourists come every year.
Important! To study the local beauties it will take at least 3.5-4 hours. When lifting, you have to spend a lot of physical effort, so for freedom of movement you need to stock up on comfortable clothes and shoes. In order to see the small caves, you need a small flashlight, which you should take care of in advance.
At the foot of the mountains there are many cozy shops – both grocery and souvenir shops. Those who did not take food with them can get everything they need to quench their thirst and hunger. Upon return, you can look into the souvenir shop, where a huge selection of products from marble – statuettes, kitchen utensils, decoration items.
